Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026

The short version

Lintify does not collect, store, or transmit your JSON data. Every tool on this site runs entirely in your browser. When you paste a JSON document into any of the tools, the parsing, formatting, conversion, and validation all happen in the JavaScript engine that is already running on your device. Your data never leaves your machine.

What we do not collect

  • Your JSON data. It is never sent to any server. There is no backend.
  • Your file uploads. Files you upload are read by the browser and processed locally. They are never transmitted.
  • Account information. There are no accounts. You cannot sign in, so we have nothing to store about you.
  • Usage history. We do not keep a record of which tools you use or what you paste into them.

What we do collect

Lintify is a free site, and like most free sites it is supported by ads. The ads are served by Google AdSense, which uses cookies and similar technologies to display relevant ads and to measure ad performance. Google may use the information it collects through cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.

We also use a privacy-friendly analytics tool to count aggregate page views. This tool does not set cross-site tracking cookies and does not build a profile of your behavior across sites. It tells us which tools are most used and which pages have errors, so we can improve the site. It does not tell us who you are.

Cookies

Lintify sets a small number of cookies for its own operation: a theme preference cookie (so the site remembers whether you prefer light or dark mode) and cookies set by Google AdSense for ad serving. We do not set any tracking cookies ourselves. You can clear all cookies at any time from your browser settings.

Third-party services

Lintify uses the following third-party services, each with its own privacy policy:

  • Cloudflare Pages — hosts the static site and serves the HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Cloudflare may log standard request information (IP address, user agent, timestamp) for security and abuse prevention.
  • Google AdSense — serves ads on the site. Google's privacy policy explains how it uses the data it collects.
  • Google Fonts — serves the Inter and JetBrains Mono fonts. Google Fonts receives a request with your IP address when your browser downloads the font files.

Your choices

You can use an ad blocker to block Google AdSense. You can use a content blocker to block Google Fonts (the site will fall back to system fonts). You can disable cookies in your browser settings. You can use a VPN or Tor to hide your IP address from Cloudflare. All of these will continue to work — Lintify does not require any of these services to function.

Changes to this policy

If we change this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and the change will take effect immediately. We will never silently weaken our privacy commitments — if we ever start collecting data we currently do not collect, we will say so explicitly.
